Salar de Uyuni is ready to give you an experience that has to be seen to be believed.

Covering an area of 10,582 square kilometers, Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is the world's largest salt flat. The whole area is covered by a few meters of salt crust. This thick layer of salt crust has an extraordinary flatness. The crust serves as a huge source of salt for Bolivia. Under this crust of salt lies a pool of brine containing the biggest lithium reserves in the world. It basically contains more than half of the world's lithium reserves.

Salar de Uyuni is considered an ideal object for calibrating the altimeters of Earth observation satellites because of its large area, clear skies and the exceptional flatness of the surface. It was formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes. Regarded as the world’s largest salt flat, the fact Salar de Uyuni is seen as being beautiful is because of both its unusual landscape and the amount of uncommon animals that inhabit the area.

Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia is normally an arid, barren surface of salt, creating one of the least inhabitable areas of the world. However, when this ancient lake bed is covered with a few centimeters of water during the rainy season, it becomes one of the world's largest mirrors. Salar de Uyuni is, surely, one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
