Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia
The Plitvice Lakes National Park is the most popular tourist attraction in Croatia. It is also considered to be one of the most beautiful natural sights in Europe. The Plitvice Lakes National Park is located in the mountainous area of Like, roughly halfway between capital city Zagreb and Zadar on the coast.
The Plitvice Lakes National Park contains a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls. These have been formed by processes typical of karst landscapes. The beauty of the National Park lies in its sixteen lakes, inter-connected by a series of waterfalls, and set in deep woodland populated by deer, bears, wolves, boars and rare bird species.
The Plitvice Lakes National Park covers a total area of 300 square kilometers. The Plitvice Lakes can be divided up into 16 individual lakes, all of which flow into the Korana River. The sixteen lakes are separated into an upper and lower cluster formed by runoff from the mountains, descending from an altitude of 636 meters to 503 meters over a distance of some eight kilometers. The lakes collectively cover an area of about two square kilometers.

Watching the water pour over the side of the mountain and down the face of the many travertines and caves of the Plitvice Lakes is considered to be the best view in the whole country. Due to its natural beauty and significance, this system of 16 interlinked lakes and a large forest complex around it were set aside as a national park in 1949. The park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.

All the views shown above are amazing! My uncle has visited The Plitvice Lakes National Park last year with his colleagues. He told me about its natural beauty. He said that it is a great attraction to see the beautiful creation of God. After reading this blog I wish to visit this beautiful park in upcoming summer. I will go there after my yellowstone bus tours. Can you suggest me about the best nearer resort to stay there during the tour?
