The Cinque Terre is famous for the amazing terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. The villages that compose the Cinque Terre are: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The villages have long been isolated from the rest of the world and the characteristic Ligurian culture has been conserved in the area. The Cinque Terre is surrounded by a chain of mountains. This has made the landscape a unique one, different from the rest of the coast.

The Cinque Terre is characterized by the presence of typical steep slopes cultivated with vines thanks to terraces. It is an amazing place with the suggestive kind of coast falling sheer to the sea, with cliffs which are often vertical, alternated with small creeks and enchanting beaches among rocks. All these things make the Cinque Terre a natural work of art.
